Bait-Tech started in late-2006 by Peter Clapperton, a passionate angler all his life, with many match successes under his belt. He is responsible for creating the mighty Essex County SuperTeam in the 90’s. A team whose record will be hard to beat.

In the early 80’s Peter began importing groundbait from the continent. The bait was highly successful and it wasn’t long before he was involved with product development. As the UK bait market changed Peter wanted baits specifically for the UK market and Bait-Tech was formed.

Keeping it in the family, Hayley Clapperton, Peter’s daughter joined the company in 2011 and as the product portfolio grew, so did its reputation & credibility for baits that give confidence based on results. Popular products such as Special ‘G’ Green which every tackle shop in the country has on its shelves has been a top seller for over 10 years, testament to quality and innovation.

2020 saw another change for Bait-Tech as the company merged with Donald Cooke Ltd. A long-standing family-run company which has been serving the pet food and fishing industries for generations.

Now we’re ready for the next phase of growth.
